Statement
“We think that the relations between things and humans are exhausted; locked in a world where everything is predetermined with all the details. Experiences of today are transformed into statistics for a future-time. Their medians are calculated while all errors and surprises are left out. Human life is condensed into durational data. Therefore no longer the same dynamic between the object and the subject retains. They are leveled both being treated as data for future’s consumption. The relations of consumption define us as service-oriented subjects. We as subjects always have to compromise our subjectivity with the demands of the services offered. Life itself becomes a commodity offered as a service and immortality is transformed into subject-less sustainability.

Seminar Focus
In this workshop, you are not expected to design a new object. You are suggested to stroll the blurred relations of subject and object, in this uncertain ground reduced to data that are to be reinterpreted within the network that we are already involved in.

In this workshop, “Obscure Object”, question “How can a real experience be made visible through entwined nets of the object determined as an interface?” is central.

Aiming at the transfer of the process instead of the result, this work does not impose restriction on methods and modes of presentation. Regardless of its result, it is predicated on the extension of design process. Rather than transferring research and information, way of transfer of process is expected to be an abstraction following activities of looking, understanding, convergence, operating, fragmentation, etc.
